Developmental editing is about addressing the broader structural components (character, setting, pacing, etc.) and themes of your story to strengthen your unique voice and improve the readers’ experience. Maybe you need help with the pacing of your manuscript’s soggy middle, or you’re wondering if your chosen point-of-view is the best fit for your story. I will work with you to revise your writing and make it shine!
What’s Included in the Manuscript Editing Package?
Structural and Content Editing: Strengthen your manuscript’s flow, structure, and coherence while ensuring your ideas are clear and impactful.
Developmental Feedback: You’ll receive a letter summarizing the narrative and structural issues identified in the manuscript with thoughtful, constructive suggestions for how tackle specific problems.
Coaching Calls: One (1) call at the beginning of the project to discuss developmental editing goals, and one (1) call to review the editorial feedback letter.
Copyediting (optional): Fine-tune grammar, punctuation, and style for a smooth and professional read. It’s worth noting that if you’re working on an early draft, copyediting is less crucial and you can opt to opt-out!
